Description of Services

Companion/Homemaker Services:

Heartland's companions are trained to provide a safe, nurturing enviroment for their clients. Their job duties include: cooking, light housekeeping, laundry, errands, transportation to appointments or other outings, assistance with dressing and undressing, assistance with activities of daily living. Homemakers can assist clients in taking their medications if the client is not confused. Remember homemakers are not medically trained, so they cannot make decisions about what medications to take. Homemakers can also help with exercises, and physical therapy as well as companionship and entertainment. These services are availalbe 24 hours per day or as little as 4 hours.

Certified Nurses Aide Services:

Heartland's CNA's (certified nurses aides) provide all of the services a homemaker or companion does; as well as the following; Bathing, in bed, shower or bath tub, assistance with bedroom needs, skin care, basic observation of medical conditions, such as pulse, blood pressure, temperature, urinary cathetar care, minor dressing changes, assistance with medication, observation of pain, and care for the terminally ill. All of these services are supervised by a nurse, and the CNA's have 24 hour access to the nursing supervisor for your family member's well being. These services are also available from 4-24 hours per day.

LPN or RN Nursing Services:

Heartland has a large staff of specially trained home care professionals. We provide nursing care to all ages of people, from birth to death. Our services are under supervision of your doctor. Our services include, but are not limited to; Intravenous therapy, pain management, wound care, cathetar care, ostomy care, diabetic management, injections, chemotherapy, care of central lines, respiratory treatments, care of the terminally ill, as well as tender loving care in difficult situations. All of our nursing staff has 24 hour access to the nursing supervisor for consultation as well as your physician if the need arise. These services are available from 4-24 hours per day. Heartland also has a Medicare certified agancy for other needs.
